about

Hey Elbow releases their third album this fall. The debut Every Other was released in 2015, and three years later came the follow-up C0C0C0. The trio with their roots in Malmö have always let their music close in on art, and their suggestive and atmospheric music always grows from a strong will to experiment.
They have toured the world during the past years, and the live situation feeds the creation of new music – a way of working that they have now brought with them to the studio. Missit, which will be released on May 20th, is the first example of that.

The three members of Hey Elbow creates original, ethereal and yet restrained pop music. None of the three front the others, and all instruments get equal space: flugelhorn, song, drums, guitar and electronic sounds, combined with white noise and improvisation. It's impossible to position Hey Elbow geographically; their music is international and sounds like nothing else. It's easier to describe the music in images, and Missit sounds a little like driving in a convertible through a barren landscape on a hot summer's day.

¬– This single and our whole coming album was recorded mostly live, which felt completely natural, since the live part has always been a big focus for us. We rented a house in the south of Sweden last summer to write our third album. Missit came to be late one evening when we'd just decided to go to bed, but Liam started playing this beat and we had to stay up a little later.
